The Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties operating funds come through an appropriation from the state legislature and a portion of Education Service Units #3 and #19 Core Service funding.  In addition, the Learning Community is responsible for setting the following levies:

• Learning Community Common General Fund Levy  ($0.90 - $0.95 levy within the $1.05 levy limit as noted in §77-3442):  All dollars collected through this levy are distributed by the Learning Community to the 11 member school districts for their general fund budgets based on a formula that takes into consideration the needs and resources of the member school districts. 
  
  
• Learning Community Common Building Fund Levy ($0.00 - $0.02 cent levy within the $1.05 levy limit as noted in §77-3442): This is another levy set by the Council with all dollars collected distributed by the Learning Community to the 11 school districts for special building funds based on student population.
  
  
• Learning Community Capital Projects Levy ($0.00 - $0.05 cent levy): Dollars collected through this levy may only be used by the Learning Community for capital projects related to either Elementary Learning Centers or new focus schools or programs.
