Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties
Elementary Learning Centers

Our students need a strong foundation during their elementary years to be successful.  The Learning Community is focused on improvements in elementary learning that will help our students succeed academically.  These programs are especially important for students affected by poverty, limited English language skills and disruptive moves from one school to another.

Community Centers
Through Learning Community Centers, we are activating long term strategies so that parents can support their children's elementary education. Our first location is the Learning Community Center of South Omaha, temporarily located at 5211 S. 31st St. in Subcouncil 5.

We are excited to pilot new strategies to help children get the best possible start in elementary school. The Learning Community is pleased to welcome One World Community Health Centers, as our operating partner.

Programs and Services
By collaborating with member school districts and community partners, students in the Learning Community benefit from new and innovative programs.  Early results are promising, as we see a growing number of students with  measurable academic gains.
