Learning Community invites families to come out and learn more about the new Open Enrollment Process
The Learning Community’s Achievement Subcouncil 3 (serving the Ralston Public Schools, Westside Community Schools, and Omaha Public Schools in the midtown area) is holding a Community Forum Wednesday, February 24, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the UNO Thompson Alumni Center.
As part of the new Learning Community law, beginning in the 2010-2011 school year, parents in the Learning Community may apply to send their children to any public elementary, middle or high school within the eleven Learning Community member school districts, if there's room, subject to rules designed to foster socioeconomic diversity. Open enrollment replaces option enrollment for students living in within the Learning Community. The deadline for submitting Open Enrollment applications is March 15th.
Your Achievement Subcouncil #3 representatives from the Learning Community, as well as representatives from Omaha Public Schools, Westside Community Schools and Ralston Public Schools, will be presenting information and answering your questions at this Community Forum. Please visit the Learning Community website at www.learningcommunityds.org for more information about Open Enrollment.
